What Parents Say

“It was not easy to go and meet new people. I was feeling sad about leaving my country. I didn't like the idea of visiting this place, but I forced myself to go. I was so surprised! I felt safe and confortabel being in the building The staff were welcoming and made me feel warm and cozy, as if it was my own home.”

“Every time I feel distressed, alienated and miss my family, I go there. They give me love and attention and time.”

"A friend told me family place was a place where families and children can spend time and have someone help us learn about the new culture and the way to raise children. I still remember the first time I came to family place. It was a month after I arrived in Canada. My frined told me that it was a beautiful program and that I would not feel like I was in a strange country. All the staff welcomed me and there was food. We sat and ate with other families, My children were very happy at that time and I felt as if I was in my parent's home."

"Family Place provided a place to come when life is hard."
