We enjoyed spending the warmer summer months with you and your family, and time just flew by; I can't believe it will soon be fall.
This autumn we will continue our off- site programs and, thanks to a grant from the Vancouver Foundation, we can provide year long programming in the Steveston and City Centre areas. We remain committed to providing programming to families in their neighbourhoods, thus reducing the barriers for families to attend our programs.
Unfortunately we have run into some space issues in the Hamilton area. Hamilton Community Centre is in the middle of construction on their facility thus we will no longer be able to offer our programs there until it is complete. The staff are working hard on finding an alternative site, and we are confident that we will be able to offer some kind of program in Hamilton.
We will continue to offer our important parenting programs including Make the Connection and Nobody's Perfect this fall, so please have a look inside this newsletter to view upcoming dates for those programs.
I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank-you to the Parent Advisory Committee of Richmond Family Place who has provided us with important feedback about our programs. If you would like to become involved in this committee please talk with one of the staff members; your input is invaluable.
Hope you have a wonderful fall, and continue to enjoy the programs at Family Place.
Kim Winchell,
Executive Director
Goodbyes
Family Place is sad to be saying good-bye to Linh Lam who has been at Family Place for 3 years. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours. Family Place wishes Dani Lefroy good luck as she leave on maternity leave. We say goodbye to our Summer students: Mimi Lau and Zeba Chaudhry who worked so hard at Family Place during the Summer months.
Looking for Information?
Did you know that we have a library of books and videos that are available for loan in our living room here at Richmond Family Place? Ask our staff for more information about these valuable resources. We also have two blue boxes in the large playroom filled with information about a variety of subjects from toilet training to healthy eating. If we don't have what you're looking for, please ask us and we will do our best to include it. J
